Fifty of Santa’s Six Flags Over Texas Helpers will come together on Monday, Dec. 22 to present Mission Arlington with a special gift to help make this holiday season brighter for some local children.
Many community service organizations, such as Mission Arlington, are seeing an increase in the need for help from families this year, due to the state of the economy. The church-based organization, which has been serving the Arlington community for more than 20 years, has offered assistance to more than 3,000 families in need of Christmas gifts so far.
“Working families in our city often have to choose between paying their bills or having Christmas for their children,” said Tillie Burgin, executive director of Mission Arlington. “Generosity from people and organizations like Six Flags is helping a lot of families be able to do both this Christmas.”
This presentation will be one of a kind as fifty Six Flags employees, dressed in their best Santa gear, each hand over a plush Bugs Bunny to Ms. Tillie for the Mission Arlington Christmas Store.
Through its philanthropic arm, Six Flags Friends, Six Flags Over Texas helps to make a difference in its local community throughout the year by supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations.
